in 2023 January 25 The members of the Gelpa association met for the regular general meeting of members with the aim not only to listen to interesting reports and to get to know the newly joined members of the association, to be confirmed in 2022. the activity report of the association, the actual budget utilization, the financial responsibility report and the explanatory letter, but also to elect the new president of the association. Vytautas Žirgutis, representative of AB Lietuvos geležinkeliai, won the presidential election unanimously during a secret ballot, who will begin his three-year term as president from 2023. February 1

The participants of the general meeting also discussed the association’s 2023. budget draft and the question of raising the membership fee. After minor changes, in 2023 the draft budget plan was unanimously approved.

After the current member of the board of Gelpa became the president of the association, the members of the association raised the question of the vacant position of the board member and the mentioned question was included in the agenda of the meeting. The members of the association proposed to hold board member elections during the current general meeting. Two representatives of the association members expressed their desire to participate in the board member elections. Candidates were invited to introduce themselves while the ballots were being prepared. After the votes were counted, Giedrius Šiugžda, representative of Geležinkelios tiesimo centas UAB, won the board member election with a majority of several votes.
